Rudolph Community and Care is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team.

This Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a variety of carpentry and maintenance services as directed by the Maintenance Manager.  This position is responsible for addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns, performing routine preventative maintenance tasks, assisting skilled trades; and ensuring that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order and are available at job site when needed.

Hours are typically 1st shift, and on-call as needed. Which could include work in the evenings and on the weekends. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performs a wide variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance and carpentry activities including but not limited to: floor, window and door replacement, painting, electrical, plumbing and appliance installation and repairs.
  2. As directed perform seasonal lawn service and ice and snow removal
  3. Performs needed modifications based on program needs in living quarters and RCC vehicles.
  4. Assists contractors and skilled maintenance workers with projects (e.g. transporting and securing materials, completing specific tasks under direction of Maintenance Manager for said projects
  5. Maintains RCC tools and equipment for ensuring availability and safe operation
  6. Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
  7. Repairs, moves and delivers furniture and building system components for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition.

  8. Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for resolving immediate safety concerns.

  9. Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. 


High school diploma/ GED


Prefer at least 3 years of job related experience.


  1. Writing skills adequate to write narrative accounts in grammatically correct sentences.
  2. Oral communication skills adequate to accurately and professionally relay information to outside agencies.
  3. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  4. Must have a valid driver's license with a driving record that is satisfactory as according to the standards set by RCC's commercial general liability insurance company and reliable transportation.
  5. Ability to work under limited supervision.
  6. Must possess judgment and decision-making skills sufficient to perform the functions of the job, in both day-to-day and crisis situations.
  7. The ability to communicate and work effectively in a diverse environment with clients, co-workers, supervisors, health care professionals, and others related to the Maintenance Tech duties. Must possess effective listening and retention skills.
  8. Must be flexible.
  9. Ability to efficiently manage his/her time to complete needed tasks or projects within a set deadline.
  10. Specific knowledge- based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include, but not limited to; standard methods, materials and tools used in assigned skilled trade; and safety practices and procedures.


The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; as well as significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 15% sitting, 45% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed under various temperature conditions and in a generally hazard free environment.

Eligibility to work in the United States

Valid Driver's license that complies with RCC's motor vehicle policy.

Clean Driving Record that complies with RCC's motor vehicle policy.

Insured, reliable vehicle for use at each shift

Background clearance as required by BCA and DHS

This position is approximately 35-40 hours a week
